Gandhi

In 1930, India was part of British Empire. Mahatma Gandhi, a leader in the struggle for Indian rights, wanted to protest the British policy of forbidding the Indians to make their own salt. The British would force them to pay a tax the salt they had to buy. Many Indians thought this was unfair and wasted to have a war to drive the British out of India, but Gandhi said that violence was not the answer. He decided to protest in a nonviolence way, he said he would walk to make the salt with his own hands.
By the time, Gandhi finished his 200-mile walk, several thousand people had joined him. Taking salt from the ocean, Gandhi declared, "I have made salt-lame a criminal", and he dared the British to arrest him. Arrest him they did, but they were also forced to arrest villagers all along India's coast who followed his example. Later, many people who openly said village-made salt in the cities were also arrested, soon the jails were overflowing, on March 5, 1931, the British were forced to admit defeat. They agreed to stop taxing salt. They could not go on arresting people. There was no room in the prisons. Gandhi and his method of nonviolent protest had won!
Now, many people realize that the using force is not necessary, important, and useful. But, solving problem with brain, and nonviolence is a good way to find a solution for getting away the problem, is the same as Gandhi did. Lastly, the world will be peace absolutely.
No War! Be Peace!

The Most Intelligent Person

If intelligence can be defined as the power to reflect and reason, who is the most intelligent person the world has ever known?

Would it be Einstein, Madam Curie, Plato, or perhaps Galileo? There is no question that these people were highly intelligent. Is there any measurement that can set one man or woman apart from all others?

In the late 15th century in Italy there was a man who merits special distinction. Leonardo da Vinci was an outstanding artist. The Last Supper and Mona Lisa were works of genius. Yet Da Vinci's thoughts, interests, and questions ranged far beyond painting and sculpture. He was a leader in many areas of science, too.

He studied geology because fossils of sea life embedded in rock layers near his home puzzled him. As a painter of the human body he believed he should possess a thorough knowledge of anatomy. Da Vinci was one of the first artists to combine a scientific study of the body with his paintings. He was also an outstanding military and civil engineer.

One of his continuing passions was to develop a vehicle that would permit him to fly. As a young

man he often climbed the towering hills behind his home to study the landscape below. He spent hours studying the flight of birds. He drew many sketchers of machines that he hoped could be built to fly. Some of his drawings were used centuries later in the development of gliders, helicopters, and airplanes.

Napoleon Bonaparte

A short French man who can become a great ruler of France, can conquer most of Europe unless Russia and Britain. Nowadays, his myth and name is remembered as a great emperor of France, Napoleon Bonaparte.

As a child at a French military school, Napoleon Bonaparte dreamt of battles and victory. And it was, indeed, through victory in battle that Napoleon became a great power.

He was born on the island of Corsica in 1769. Sent to military school at the age of nine, he soon proved himself to be an avid leader with an amazing memory. After finishing school, he served as a lieutenant. He was a useful and capable officer. When he was only twenty seven, he assumed command of the Army of the Italy. Victory followed victory, and political soon followed. In the wake of the French Revolution, Napoleon represented a new beginning to the French people. In 1800, he became First Consul of France. In 1804, he crowned himself Emperor of France.

But Victory was not always to be his. Napoleon made tactical blunders in Spain again in Russia. He then several battles as invading armies tried to take over France. By 1814, Paris surrendered. The city was quickly occupied, and Napoleon was forced to flee to the island of Elba. He was to return briefly to power, only to fall again in defeat at the famous battle Waterloo. France lost, UK, Austria and Russia won. He was exiled to the tiny, isolated island of St. Helena, where he died at the age of 51.

Napoleon was often accused of being power hungry and egotistical. He did nonetheless turn his dreams of battle and victory into a reality, ruling Europe for a decade and leaving a lasting imprint on the generations who followed.

UFO

At the ancient time, before the birth of Chris, in Egypt, Greece, or other places, our ancestors saw the queer objects, bright, circular, in the sky. They did not define or name it. But, now it is called UFO, Unidentified Flying Object. Today, I would like to show you some ancient reports which was found by the archaeologists. And, I believe our ancestors did not lie to their heirs. Personally, the universe is very huge and large, the theory that believe the universe has only life being called the human, is impossible. So, there must be the other life beings which human still do not know.

UFO in the history

Examples of these reports include:

During the reign of the Pharaoh Thotmose III about 1450 BC, there is a description of multiple “circles of fire” brighter than the sun and about 5 metres in size that appeared over multiple days. They finally disappeared after ascending higher in the sky.

The Roman author Julius Obsequens wrote that in 99 BC, “in Tarquinia towards sunset, a round object, like a globe, a round or circular shield, took its path in the sky from west to east.”

On September 24, 1325 , General Yoritsume and his army observed unidentified globes of light flying in erratic patterns in the night sky near Kyoto, Japan. The general’s advisers told him not to worry -- it was merely the wind causing the stars to sway.

On April 14, 1561 the skies over Nuremberg, Germany were reportedly filled with a multitude of objects seemingly engaged in an aerial battle. Small spheres and discs were said to emerge from large cylinders.

Those are examples to prove that the ancient human could see the UFO. Why cannot the present? I think most of you don not believe the UFO is true. But, I do. There are many things which is still not discover by the scientist.
Then let's see the modern report.
Modern reports

The so-called Fátima incident or “The Miracle of The Sun,” witnessed by tens of thousands in Fátima, Portugal in 1917, October 13, is believed by some researchers to actually be a UFO event.

In 1942, February 25, an unidentified craft was detected over the Califonia region. The craft stayed aloft despite taking at least 20 minutes worth of flak from ground batteries. The incident later became known as the Battle of Los Angeles, or the West coast air raid.

In 1946, there were over 2000 reports of unidentified aircraft in the Scandinavian nations, along with isolated reports from France, Portugal, Italy and Greece, then referred to as “Russian hail,” and later as “ghost rockets,” because it was thought that these mysterious objects were Russian tests of captured German V1 or V2 Rocket. This was subsequently shown not to be the case, and the phenomenon remains unexplained. Over 200 were tracked on radar and deemed to be “real physical objects” by the Swedish military. A significant fraction of the remainder were thought to be misidentification of natural phenomena, such as meteors.

The Lincoln Lawyer

When I was at ABAC Law School. I did not know what is Law good enough. I only knew the meaning of Law which the lecturers told me; a system of rule, a set of norm for maintaining the justice, the commander of a sovereign ,and backed by the threat of a sanction. But, in the real world I believe Law is not just like that. There are many things I still know nothing about the Law. And the people who do not know what is law. They will think Law is just a way to find the justice. If you are a lawyer, you will know immediately law is not a way to keep the justice. And I agree with them. Why? Because of this book, The Lincoln Lawyer.

The Lincoln Lawyer was written by a well known author Michael Connelly. This book is a best selling in USA, got the prizes; 2006 Quill Award Nominee-Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, 2006 Richard & Judy's Book Club Selection, Christian Scientist Monitor's Best Mysteries of 2006, and Edgar Award Nominee 2006. This is a legal thriller. I recommend this book to everybody who is learning the law [ Now it was already translated in Thai, Amarin Publishing, the price is 295 Bath] . You should read, because it can teach you very much what is law in the point of view of the ordinary people, and another meaning of law.
If you believe Law is just a justice, things are judged fairly. I think you are wrong. Because, the law is not an equity. But, it is negotiation and manipulation. Moreover, the law is a ordinary machine which was built , and used by human. So, every procedures of legal system are prepared well; picking the jury, find the evidence, investigation, or making the decision. And the judge and the jury who make the verdict, they are human being like you or me. They are not the god, every thing they know are told by the attorneies. So, some ia fact and some is not.
The story begins when Mickey Haller a famous criminal lawyer in Hollywood, L.A., talked with his friend about a new case. This case is going to be the evil case, and the most danger that Haller ever got. This case, a Beverly Hills playboy arrested for attacking a woman he picked up in a bar Haller to defend him, and Mickey has his first high-paying client in years. It is a defense attorney's dream, what they call a franchise case [ Haller gets many hundred thousand dollars]. And as the evidence stacks up, Haller comes to believe this may be the easiest case of his career. But, when he knows more the facts, the real killer is nearer him than before.
While the procedure is going to start, someone close to him is murdered and Haller discovers that his search for innocence has brought him face-to-face with evil as pure as a flame. To escape without being burned, he must deploy every tactic, feint, and instinct in his arsenal — this time to save his own life. At the end, he knows he is working for the evil killer, that Beverly Hills playboy, Louis Ross Rulet. And, he can flee away from the dangerous situation, but he must
lose his job. However, he can get a great experience what he never has got it.

I do not want to retell too much. You should read it yourself, and prove that I told you is right.

Montezuma, Emperor of Aztec

The tale of Cortez and Montezuma is one of the most amazing ones in the discovery of the new world. In 1519, Hernan Cortez of Spain landed of the coast of Mexico. In search of gold, he led his men inland to the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan [ later called Mexico City]. Here Montezuma, the Aztec emperor, greeted them in friendship. He thought Cortez was the god Quetzalcoatl, who had white skin, whose return had been predicted long before. In fact, Cortez had arrived in the same day and in the same year that Quetzalcoatl was supposed to return. Also, he fitted the description of the form Quetzalcoatl was predicted to take.

Some of the Aztecs, did not believe Cortez was really a god, and they were angry with Montezuma for allowing Spaniards to stay. One afternoon, when Montezuma appeared on a balcony, he was struck in the head by a stone thrown by one of his own people; although Cortez tried to save him, Montezuma died in three day later. Most of the Aztecs blamed the Spaniards for his death. In their attempt to escape from Tenochtitlan at night, almost of all Spaniards were killed; the few who escaped soon returned with some other Indians in the area who were enemies of Aztecs. The three months battle finally ended in a Spanish victory when wild animals were released from the zoo by the Spaniards. What had ended was not just a battle but an entire culture. The Aztecs had been right to fear the stranger who came from the sea.

That is what friend are for

That’s what friends are for

Having sat side by side every class for 6 years at the time we were about to finish high school, Big and I were best friends; we barely had to speak to each other in a day because we understood what the other meant just by looking. At that time, like everyone in my class, I dreaded everything about university from fitting in the new society to living with strangers without my best friend [ not inly me my best friend does too] . All I knew was that I wanted him to be there with me [ Although, I knew it is impossible to be that ]. However, it was not until one day was a new meaning of friendship I had never thought of made clear to me. One day, I asked him to sign my friendship book. He took it home and returned it to me the next day. I thought to myself that as he had taken a whole night to write it, it must be really long. However, unlike that of my other friends who wrote pages, what he wrote was just a single line that read ”I’ll save a place beside me for you forever, like always”. That was when I learnt that friendship doesn’t mean just being together, but it means being there for each other and realized that whenever I am down there will be a place for me to go back and someone to support me.

Now, I have already knew that what friend is for, being with together in our memory, even though we are not with together. But we can remind that my best friend will be with me nearly like I will be with him for ever. Moreover, I understand friend consists of trust, help, and to understand to each other.
