Gandhi

In 1930, India was part of British Empire. Mahatma Gandhi, a leader in the struggle for Indian rights, wanted to protest the British policy of forbidding the Indians to make their own salt. The British would force them to pay a tax the salt they had to buy. Many Indians thought this was unfair and wasted to have a war to drive the British out of India, but Gandhi said that violence was not the answer. He decided to protest in a nonviolence way, he said he would walk to make the salt with his own hands.
By the time, Gandhi finished his 200-mile walk, several thousand people had joined him. Taking salt from the ocean, Gandhi declared, "I have made salt-lame a criminal", and he dared the British to arrest him. Arrest him they did, but they were also forced to arrest villagers all along India's coast who followed his example. Later, many people who openly said village-made salt in the cities were also arrested, soon the jails were overflowing, on March 5, 1931, the British were forced to admit defeat. They agreed to stop taxing salt. They could not go on arresting people. There was no room in the prisons. Gandhi and his method of nonviolent protest had won!
Now, many people realize that the using force is not necessary, important, and useful. But, solving problem with brain, and nonviolence is a good way to find a solution for getting away the problem, is the same as Gandhi did. Lastly, the world will be peace absolutely.
No War! Be Peace!
